Key West: The Beginning of Coastal Sketcher

I started Coastal Sketcher as a way to celebrate my passion for coastal landscapes, initially using vibrant alcohol markers to capture the essence of the sea and shore. The bold colors and fluidity of the markers allowed me to create lively sketches that reflected the energy of my surroundings.

As I honed my skills, I felt drawn to the soft washes and delicate nuances of watercolor, which offered a new depth to my artwork. This transition to watercolor was both a challenge and a revelation. I discovered how the medium could beautifully mimic the fluidity of water and the subtle shifts in coastal light.

Embracing this new technique, I began to blend my previous experiences with alcohol markers, enhancing my coastal sketches with the luminous layers and textures that watercolor provides.

Coastal Sketcher evolved into a dynamic exploration of both mediums, capturing the ever-changing beauty of the coast in a more expressive and nuanced way.
